Friday 12th April – Windsurf *** The Mannor at Felixstowe – Sunny periods and mild.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5 and Storm 6.5.

Walk *** Around Felixstowe to pick up Maeva.

The forecast was looking good for a windsurf today, sw 20 knots and very mild, maybe 20 degrees but it was still fairly light first thing so decided to have a walk with Mag. We had arranged to pick up Maeva for the morning so left home at 9.30 heading to the Post Office first to check on a parcel, sadly that has gone missing but Mag sorted it later:) Picked Maeva up, sadly she is under the weather, didn’t sleep well and has a bit of a temperature, she was quiet in the buggy as we headed for home, she did buck up over toast before going downhill later. Her mum took her to the doctor as she had a bit of a temperature, nothing obviously wrong, maybe a virus?

Windsurf ***

I then headed down to Squiz Lane at The Manor around 11 and parked easily, just made it before several mums/childminders arrived with loads of kids for a fun day on the beach! The wind was slightly off so set up the foil board and took a chance with my 5.5 but soon learned this was not big enough as I only got flying in patches so came ashore to swap for my 6.5. Thar was better for a bit before the wind picked up making the bigger sail a handful at time but sadly the wind was very up and down so not the best of sessions even though I did several long runs out to the shipping channel! Once again nothing fast as didn't want to push too hard especially with the sea lumping up but at least it was sunny and very mild. After a couple of hours I called it a day and headed for home.
